DESTINY RAMBO~MCGUIRE KHOURI BIOGRAPHY
Destiny Rambo McGuire is a rare combination of talent and anointing with a dash of unpredictable, improvisational genius. In other words… she often leaps from the boat of tradition and dances on the water!
Destiny has an exceptionally rich heritage of music and ministry. Her grandparents, Buck Rambo and Dottie Rambo, were pioneers in the southern Gospel music world of performers and writers with their legendary singing group The Rambos. Her parents, Dony McGuire and Reba Rambo, were certainly trendsetters in contemporary Christian music.
Journal of a Songstress, Destiny’s first full-length recording project, was released in December, 2013. Destiny envisioned it as a warm handshake, a look in the eyes, a smile with a “Hi, I’m Destiny.” This is who she is: her story, the journal of her life. The long awaited solo début features nine original songs and, paying homage to her musical heritage, it includes several chosen gems written by her legendary grandmother, her beloved mother and father, and grandfather Cornelius “Mac” McGuire.
Destiny is no stranger to the stage and platform. She and her brother, Israel Anthem, began traveling with their parents as infants and, even as toddlers, were quick to win the hearts of people with their infectious charm and talent. They became an intricate part of their parents’ ministry by singing, dancing and reciting Scriptures.
Dony and Reba were determined to ensure their children would be equipped and educated for their callings in life. Destiny has intensively studied music, piano, voice, art, and drama. Along with years of private tutoring, she studied dance at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and has a Bachelors in Christian Counseling from Destiny Christian College.
Destiny travels with her parents’ group, Rambo McGuire. In 2011, Rambo McGuire recorded a Dove Award-winning project (Bluegrass Album Of The Year), Grassoots Rambos, featuring the timeless songs of Dottie Rambo. She has also traveled and ministered with Karen Wheaton and Chosen, David and Nicole Binion, Eddie James, and Rick Pino.
Recently, Destiny has taken on the realm of musical theater. She has performed in productions of The Child, Godspell, David, Fear Not Tomorrow based on the book by Ruth Graham, and The Face Of God. In addition, she has worked with Disney on the re-release of Tarzan The Musical and in the role of Channah in Sight And Sound Theatres's show Jonah.
Today, Destiny is doing exactly what she was called and trained to do. She is an in-demand singer, writer, artist, dancer, session singer, actress, and choreographer. "I like to think of myself as an octopus," Destiny says. "I love keeping my hands involved in as many of the aspects of the arts as I can and building bridges between them."
